1.

What makes Duo's portrait service different?

We are parent friendly. We come to your home and take family portraits, then return to show them to you. You don’t have to leave home, so there is no packing the kids up in the car etc. It's completely hassle-free! We make it entertaining and fun for both parents and kids.

2.

I have heard that professional photographs are very expensive – how much does it cost?

Well, it is certainly more expensive than taking your own family photos and portraits, but then you're not getting the same quality. With some family portrait photographers, you can pay anything from $10 to $1000 for a photograph - it all depends on the value you perceive and what the photographer believes they are worth.

With us, you are paying for our years of experience and expertise, the vast range of very expensive equipment and the artistic quality in the final images. We believe whole-heartedly in the promise of giving more value than what was paid for.

Our fees are simple: $459 for the fun 2 hour photoshoot experience, and you receive three free* images printed as 5x7 or 6x6 inch enlargements. If you see the value in paying out for more then you can spend as much or as little as you like - packages and extras start from as little as $185. No pushy sales, just choices.
*P&P fee may apply

3.

How does it work?

Call, email or book here to make a family portrait booking. We then come to your home and do your personal family photoshoot. After the shoot, we spend time selecting, sorting and editing your images. Once your images have been carefully edited, your photographer will return to your home for your personal viewing. This is a relaxed showing of all the images from your family's shoot on your TV. You are welcome to make an evening of it and invite extended family if you wish! At this time, you will choose three images which we will supply as 5x7 or 6x6 inch complimentary* print enlargements as part of your family portrait shoot experience. You will also have the opportunity to purchase other products from your shoot. We have many exciting packages available and will bring samples of canvases, books, etc. Your photographer will walk you through all the options. Our exciting products are designed for the modern family offering choice and flexibility. But don't worry - there is no "high pressure" selling and no obligation to buy.

4.

What if I don't like any of the photos?

In the unlikely event that this happens, we stand 100% by our values. Either we do the shoot again for you or we offer you a full refund with a big fat apology – your choice and no risk!

5.

Are there any hidden costs and are we obligated or pressured to purchase more photos than the original package?

No. Absolutely no obligation to purchase anything. However, you are of course free to do so and we hope our images speak for themselves. We do not believe in high pressure pushy sales tactics. But you are required to have a viewing or "show and tell". This is done in your home in the evening and can take at least an hour or two. During the viewing you choose exactly what you want. We can produce a range of prints, packages and enlargements. Find out what products we offer here.

6.

How long do you take on a shoot?

It takes us 15-20 min to set up our mobile studio and then we normally allow for around 2 hours to do the shoot itself.

7.

What should we wear for our family photographs and what props do you bring?

Wear whatever you are most comfortable in, but it is best to be in un-patterned simple clothing that will not date too easily. The more color the better, as our background is white. For the kids? Whatever they love the most!

As for props we bring little tricks of the trade, but by far the best are the children's own toys as they are more personal, rather than some stranger’s wicker basket!

8.

My family are coming from overseas – How will they choose and view the photos?

We often recommend a Skype video during the show and tell evening. That way, we can share the screen with them and discuss options live. Unfortunately, we are unable to put selections online for viewing.

9.

I really like the idea of a canvas, do you do those?

Yes, these are very popular and we can do these to any size up to a meter high and up to 15 meters long if you’re that keen! Have a look at our full range of products here.
