We want every New Zealand family to enjoy natural, fun memories of their lives captured in a truly unique and inspiring way. From the photo shoot to hanging an image on the wall, we at Duo want the experience to be emotionally rewarding.
Step One: The Shoot

Since we are a mobile portrait studio, we come to you! We provide you with one of our highly trained professional photographers to shoot you in a style that is fun, involving, trusting, and safe for parents and their children. As a result, the photos are lively, fun, and natural. Our photographic style is designed to reflect you and your family’s life today. This is done using not only a white backdrop with your toys and props, but also capturing your home and lifestyle environment i.e. your garden, nearby beach or park, etc. We usually spend about 2 hours on each shoot. This ensures that there is a wide variety of photos for you to choose from!
Step Two: The Show and Tell
Your Choices and Options
The viewing takes place in your home on your TV screen, with your feet up and cup of coffee in hand. You get to choose 3 complimentary images* as part of your shoot. We’ll bring along examples of books and canvases, and walk you through the options. Our products are designed for the modern family, offering choice and flexibility, but don’t worry! There is no obligation or “high pressure” selling! However, you must choose your photos on the night – as many or as little as you want. Unfortunately, we can’t keep the files after the viewing, so choosing on the night is how we offer our service. You can see our full range of products here.

After you make your selections, we process your order. A short while later we will send you your beautiful images, ready to display and show your family and friends.

We Come to You
We make the experience of having family portraits easy and convenient for New Zealand families with young children. Duo Photography is unlike any other family portrait company. We offer families a professional, convenient and fun experience, all in your own home!
A first in New Zealand, and unique to Duo photography, our fully equipped mobile studio allows our family portrait photographers to get those natural family portraits in the comfort of your home (we don't need much room either)!
We are well geared for shooting in most locations and in most conditions. There is no need for extensive planning and child management, coordination, rustling and cajoling practices. We simply turn up at the agreed time and take care of it all.
Our standard mobile portrait sessions are either at 10am or 2pm on weekends, however alternative times and days can also be arranged.
